It's all in my head. It's all in my head.
If I keep repeating it, will I eventually believe it?
Truth be told, it has not been so bad. You're never very full, but so long as you don't go more than 5 hours in between shakes, you're never really starving either.
Of course, reasoning like that does nothing for you when you are preparing your kids'meals, smelling the smells and stirring the pots. Test in self discipline - PASSED.
May 5 can't come soon enough.
Everyone, thank you for all the comments on my last post. Addiction sucks huh?

Pre-op is the worst part of the whole journey as far as I'm concerned. Hang in there - it'll be worth it in the end (easy for me to say, right?)
ReplyDeleteThe big day is finally getting close!!! I feel like since you already did the liquids for so long, you should get to skip this part ;)
ReplyDeleteHang in there. It's awesome that you are conquering your head hunger so early in the game!
You can do it. We all did and survived-not without a lot of whining and complaining but you'll get there too.
ReplyDeleteMay 5th will be here before you know it! I know people say that all the time, but I really mean it. I can't believe that I am six months banded!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I didn't have to do a pre-op diet - I really admire all of you that have had to go through this torture! The two weeks of clear liquids and two weeks of mushies after surgery was hard enough for me. <3
You can do it! May 5th is just around the corner. It just seems longer because it is still April.
ReplyDeleteGo back, if you have the inclination, and read my foray through almost 3 weeks of liquids. Good times.
ReplyDeleteBe strong, my friend...this too shall pass.
You can do this. I know you can because you already have. And you did it without a date or approval - something I know is tough. But now you have approval and a date. This time is for real! You are not alone, feel free to vent/rant/whine/piss/moan all you like. It doesn't change it, but it helps. :)
ReplyDeleteThe closer you get, the further away it seems. But then afterward, it feels like you always just had it done yesterday. (At least, I'm 3 1/2 months out and it still feels like I "just had" surgery.)
ReplyDeleteKeep your eye on the prize. And I don't mean a juicy steak. :-) Geez every 5 hours. I wouldn't think shakes would last that long.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you. I'm on my official 5th day of my pre-op diet and the worst part is when I have to cook for my kids. I found keeping a bottle of water with me when I have to be preparing their meals helps, I can stop for a sip of water and it makes it a tiny bit better.
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody
